    Our Story

    Irish family run business

At HomeBot Ireland we help Irish customers save time by providing a wide range of home robots. As Ireland's only one stop home robot shop, we offer robot lawn mowers, robot vacuums and mops, giving you back more time to do the things you love.

    Our Story

HomeBot Ireland started with a stubborn father-in-law, a heavy lawnmower, and a robot vacuum that arrived with absolutely no support when things went wrong.

When founder Clara Mulligan and her husband Alan O’Neill relocated to West Cork during the Covid-19 pandemic, they watched Alan’s father struggle every week to haul his mower up and down three steps to reach his garden. Too proud to ask for help, he eventually broke his ankle. Six weeks later, he was back doing exactly the same thing.

Around the same time, Clara bought a robot vacuum in the haze of early motherhood, desperate for anything that would help keep the house in order. The robot arrived. Then it broke. And what followed was one of the most frustrating customer experiences she had ever had, chasing an overseas company with no local presence, no real answers, and no interest in helping. She got her time back for about three weeks, then lost far more of it trying to get the thing fixed.

Two problems. One idea. What if there was a robotics company that actually stood behind its products?

Four years of development followed, carried out alongside a busy family life and a house build. Clara, a lifelong entrepreneur with a background spanning equestrian management, international supply chain led the commercial and product side. Alan, a Mercedes-Benz trained technician with deep expertise in autonomous vehicle systems, led the engineering. In June 2024, they sold their first robot.

Today, HomeBot Ireland’s AI-powered lawnmowers, robot vacuums, and mops are in homes across the country and on shelves in Euronics and Topline stores nationwide. Every product is designed specifically for Irish homes: the split-level gardens, the door saddles, the unpredictable weather, the rooms where the Wi-Fi doesn’t quite reach.

What has never changed is the reason we started. We make technology that gives people their time back, and we stand behind every product with local, human support based right here in West Cork. No overseas call centres, no automated responses. Just a team that answers your WhatsApp, knows your robot by name, and has you sorted same day.

    Your home, just made easier.
